First, I'd be the last person in the world to deny kudos to WATPA members who
contribute time and effort to create, convert or capture material for the
digital world. If that was the inference from my note, I apologize.
Second, I agree that WATPA needn't compete with the world of the Web.
However, we can't ignore one of the most significant developments of this
decade. To do so significantly reduces our potential for credibility with a
knowledgeable audience. Further, it would take very little effort to
demonstrate the important differences between 'promoting' and 'informing'
even to a novice audience. This then would leave us with a constituency of
only the early Internet adopters ... an important but thin base to accomplish
WATPA's stated objectives.
It doesn't take much to lead by example. The dividends will be significant,
I believe.
