President's Message
Marc Margolies was elected President, Bob Wetter VP, Peter Silton Treasurer
- Annual club dues will remain unchanged--$36 for adults and $24 for juniors dues are collected Oct. 1st. the club's fiscal year runs Oct.1 - Sept. 30
-
- Non-members may particpate in tournaments for a fee of $10 which will be applied toward a prize fund for the tournament played. Should the non-member join the club before the tournament ends he or she will recieve a $5 credit toward membership dues.
- We are searching for a storage bin to keep in Room A-B for our equipment, pending Community Center approval.
- There are no immediate plans to extend club hours to include a 2nd site or night until we can gauge the size of the club after pending renwal memberships.
- It was resolved that the WCC will not sponsor a Grand Prix style tourney out of it's own funds due to our not-for- profit status. However some of the membership at large may promote such a tournament, guarantying the prize funds out of their pockets and donating proceeds to the Club if they wish to do so.
- We plan to purchase new Vinyl Playing Boards to replace old paper ones.
- We have established guidelines for future InterClub Meets as a result of our recent experience with an unnamed club:: No alcohol will be allowed on our premises. Participants in inter club meets must be current members of the club which they are here to represent, as established by membership lists-- no ringers. Board Pairings/Alignment are a determinant of Rating and will not be negotiated.
